Another sign of the decline of Western Civilization

In early April, David McGill of Omaha, Nebraska became the first USA Rock Paper Scissors League Champion at the House of Blues in Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas. The tournament purse was $50,000!!

The A&E network is actually going to televise highlights from the tournament. Naturally, with an event sponsored by Anheuser-Busch, there are hot and scantily clad Girls of USARPS whose pictures you can see (along with all you want to know about competitive Rock Paper Scissors) at http://www.usarps.com/site/index.php

Comments:
Which won? Rock? Paper? Scissors? It would be fascinating, in an extremely trivial and obviously psychological way, if one of the three was the usual winner. I'm more of a scissors man, myself.

Compare the American rules at http://www.rpschamps.com/rules.html with the international rules at
http://www.rpschamps.com/rules.html

The "international" rules are clearly written by a Brit or Canadian, because they emphasize "good form" and implicitly bar the vertical scissors (i.e., the obscene British gesture). The American rules are much more free-wheeling.

I could write a book on this game. maybe I should...
